Network
The Institute for Democracy Konstantinos Karamanlis develops multidisciplinary international activities by organizing conferences and training seminars, conducting surveys and editing international publications. The international activity of the Institute develops in three axes. The first is the participation of the Institute as a full member in pan-European multilateral institutions and networks, such as:
the Center for European Studies, the official “think tank” of the European People’s Party,
the European Ideas Network, a pan-European forum supported by the European People’s Party, which promotes dialogue and innovative thinking on key European issues,
the European Network of Political Foundations, a network of cooperation between European political foundations and the European Union institutions, to promote democracy and development.
The second pillar concerns a wide range of bilateral actions implemented in co-operation with other ideologically related political institutes: the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the Hanns Seidel Stiftung, the International Republican Institute, the Foundation for Innovation Policy, the Robert Schuman Foundation, Fundacion para el Analysis y los Estudios Sociales (FAES), Politische Akademie der ÖVP, Fondazione Res Publica.
The third pillar concerns the international activities developed by the Institute with other partners. These include: independent political foundations (eg Friends of Europe, the European Policy Center, Security & Defense Agenda), universities and research centers, the YEPP (Youth of the European People’s Party).
